We promote audiovisual creation in Catalonia

Call 2024 closed

The Associació Antic Gremi Revenedors, 1447, organizes the Premi Seqüència annually, an award for short films that highlights audiovisual talent in Catalan. As a cultural entity and promoter of the preservation of Catalan historical heritage, we organize various activities to support emerging talents in different artistic fields.

The Premi Seqüència aims to promote audiovisual creation in Catalonia and give visibility to local emerging talents. The goal is to foster reflection and creativity. Therefore, the two award categories are designed so that anyone can participate without needing significant investment.

You can participate in three categories:
  • Best short film under 1 minute, awarded with €1,500
  • Best short film under 8 minutes, awarded with €1,500
Audience Award, voted on the day of the awards:
  • €500 for the best short film chosen by the audience.

2024 Call

The The Sala Moragues of Born CCM hosted the second edition of the Premi Seqüència on Thursday, May 9. The short films had to be submitted under the theme Barcelona 2048, in honor of the entity’s latest publication 2048×100=Barcelona.

The winning projects were as follows:

  • Category Under 1 minute: La Nova Mar Vella, by Rubén Alonso, Ainara Ariztoy, and Ada Casas.
  • Category Under 8 minutes: Virtual, by Pau Canivell.
  • Audience Award: Sequera, by Carla Claret, Elisa Miranda, and Arnau Atala.

2023 Call for Entries

On May 18, the Premi Seqüència awards ceremony was held at the Cinema Maldà in Barcelona, hosted by actress Mont Plans.  The finalist short films, under the theme Persistence, were screened, and the jury’s decision was announced. The jury consisted of Francesc Canosa, Judith Colell, Júlia Ojeda, and Ana Polo. The winning projects were as follows:

  • Category Under 1 minute: L’eterna primavera, by Lucia López Peral and Eva Peral Martínez.
  • Category Under 8 minutes: Podria, by Mª Cristina Aldehuela Flete.
  • Audience Award: El plor, by Lídia Mata Gelabert.
Special mentions:
In this first edition, the short films were presented under the theme of “Persistence.”
