ACTIVITIES

At the Associació Antic Gremi Revenedors, 1447, we work to promote historical research of Barcelona and the diffusion and preservation of Catalan culture and language. To this end, we have initiated several activities and projects:

We organize temporary exhibitions to showcase our artistic and documentary collection, which has been developing for 577 years and helps understand the city’s history. On the second Saturday of each month, we offer guided tours of the emblematic Plaça del Pi, exploring Barcelona’s history during the time of the Consell de Cent and the guilds.

in 2024 we launched a new project to promote the learning of Catalan in the municipality of Salt (Girona). We have opened a social space for Catalan-speaking meetings, where individuals wishing to learn the language meet weekly to practice speaking. These conversation groups, part of the Xerrem Junts project by CAL (Coordinadora d’Associacions per la Llengua Catalana), are free for everyone and run with the support of volunteers.

Exhibitions

Since the celebration of the 575th anniversary of the association’s continuous activity, we have organized a series of exhibitions to showcase our artistic and documentary collection, as well as to introduce the guild hall.

With plans to set up more exhibitions and make them itinerant, we are sharing all the information on those already held: a brief description of the exhibits, the displayed pieces, and a presentation video.

GUIDED TOURS

Guided Tours We propose a visit to the famous Plaça del Pi, seeing it as an example of the Barcelona that governed itself, that could speak to the powerful, the city that went to the gate to meet the kings because they couldn’t enter without permission.
